Mumbai:- A programme to honour social workers, artists, security personnel and those doing excellent work in different fields including education, health, sports and entertainment was organised by the “Entertainment Trade Magazine, in Mumbai.
As part of the program, the Maratha Light Infantry (MLI) of the Indian Army, was honoured on completion of 250 years. MLI was formed as the 103rd Mahrattas in 1768, making it the most senior light infantry regiment. The class composition of the regiment was primarily formed by hardy, frugal and disciplined Maratha recruits from the former Maratha Empire.
In his speech Editor and Publisher, “Entertainment Trade Magazine, N P Yadav said that this year 1000 sanitary napkin pads would be donated to “Tee Foundation’ an NGO dedicated to tackle women’s issues. Besides, an aid will be given to NGOs working for gender equality and “Helpage India”.
The “Entertainment Trade Awards” were given at the hands of actress Raveena Tandon to different people in recognition of their work. The awardees included: the first woman police officer in Jammu & Kashmir, Shahida Parveen Ganguly, a self-motivated entrepreneur and India’ first individual aircraft maker Capt Amol Shivaji Yadav, a social worker devoted to service of cancer patients for the last three decades Harakhchanda Sawala, a South Africa based businessman and a messiah of global students Rizwan Adatia and a handicapped person doing excellent work in Public Relations for the last three decades Rajiv Ketkar. Raveena Tandon was felicitated with “Action of Mission award at the hands of Capt Amol Yadav.
On the occasion a host of personalities were felicitated in turns. While Capt Amol Yadav was felicitated by Shahida Ganguly and Kishori Shahane, Shahida Ganguly was felicitated by Raveena Tandon. During the program a cover of “Top 10 Hero and Heroines” written by N P Yadav was released at the hands of Kishori Shahande. Mayuresh Pem, choreographer Sushant Pujari, Manisha Kelkar and Ankita Tare presented “Karaoke”, based on popular songs. Besides, a small skit to explain about ill effects of constant mobile use by children was also presented on the occasion.
